Police Inspectors' Association

1. That Your Petitioners are the European Police Inspectors' Association whose membership includes European Inspectors,

(1) Who were members of the Hong Kong Police prior to

December 1941.

(2) Who were members of the Metropolitan or other

Police Forces in the British Isles and joined the Hong

Kong Police under 5 years agreements in 1945 or later

(3) Who were members of the Shanghai Municipal Police

Force up to 1941 9

(4) Who joined from the Royal Navy in 1946 .

That Your Petitioners have been served with Forms A

Salaries Revision 1947, by which they were given unconditional and irrevocable option either to remain on the present salary and conditions of service, or to convert to the revised salary and

conditions of service. That the payment of arrears of salary could not be authorized until the exercise of the option ( Form C)

be signed and completed

3. That in view of the opinion expressed in paragraph 89 of the Report of the Salaries Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Salaries Report "l ) it is manifestly inequitable for

Police Officers to have no alternative but ei ther to accept the new conditions (which have not been definitely formulated and which Your Petitioners submit require substantial amendments)
